Wellness Program

Your recovery extends far beyond therapy and process groups. At Casa Serena, we round out your treatment program with holistic practices that help you find a joyous and purposeful life.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is a way of healing the whole body and mind through balancing the nervous system to encourage deep healing, growth, and repair. A significant shift in physical and mental health begins to emerge as we allow our bodies to rest, recover, and regenerate.
Nutrition & Body Image
Proper nutrition is an essential part of the recovery process and most women suffer from malnourishment while in the throes of addiction. This program will help you navigate your perception, belief, thoughts and feelings around nutrition and body image as it pertains to self esteem, and your ability to change the way you think, act and feel.
Gardening
We use the therapeutic power of gardening to expand upon what we are learning, thinking, and feeling during the process of recovery. The peacefulness associated with gardening helps us learn to let go, practice acceptance, and reminds us to live in the present moment. Clients enjoy seeing the lifecycle of planting, nurturing, and harvesting the fruits and vegetables they have created. Our gardening program provides yet another opportunity to practice one of the single most important principles for mental wellness… connection.
Culinary Arts
By bringing back the family dinner hour, clients are able to connect, learn to socialize, practice teamwork, and foster a sense of pride and accomplishment. Using local ingredients and partnering with our community, we create delicious, seasonal meals every night with herbs and many vegetables that we grow and care for in our garden. Clients become chefs once a week with a sous chef who assists in the chopping, dessert making, and preparing the table with flowers from our garden. Meal planning is collaborative and clients often ask to create a family recipe or a comfort food they enjoyed growing up. We sit down together in our lovely dining room or our outside garden for el fresco dining and enjoy delicious, homemade meals every evening. This process is designed to help clients create meal plans, utilize local and seasonal produce, understand nutrition, develop new healthy routines, and encourage relationship building and bonding. We welcome family members and loved ones to join us – listen for the dinner bell!
Goals, Intentions & Meditation
Designed to provoke thoughtfulness, gratitude, connection, and daily intentions, this program helps us learn intention and purpose through the ritual of goal setting and meditation practice.
Fitness
Regular exercise is important for both physical and mental health. We offer a variety of equipment in our onsite gym, which is open daily for clients who wish to workout independently.
