Casa Serena is a women’s only residential substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment center. We are currently looking to add creative, compassionate, and innovative individuals to the team in the position of Associate or Licensed Therapist!

As Santa Barbara’s only licensed and accredited treatment program for women, we deliver high quality integral care in a collaborative team environment. Our unique curriculum is designed to help women and staff flourish. We believe in providing our staff with the resources and tools necessary to make a lasting impression on our vulnerable population and offer competitive benefit and compensation packages.

Primary Purpose and Function

The Associate or Licensed Therapist provides direct service including individual, couple/family and group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Provide weekly  individual therapy with clients 
  • Provide weekly family therapy with clients and their family members
  • Facilitate Groups
  • Create and update Treatment Plans
  • Complete Biopsychosocial and other Assessments as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for discharge planning
  • Crisis Intervention
  • EMR Documentation and compliance with Joint Commission Standards and State Licensing Requirements

Qualifications

  • License or Certification in a related field (Registered Associate or LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, CADC, CATC) or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a behavioral health treatment facility, preferable addiction centered.
  • Current professional liability insurance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally with clients, administration.
  • Should possess a professional demeanor and a collaborative spirit.
  • Have a general understanding and/or training in cultural diversity issues.

Primary Purpose and Function

The Program Assistant is the heart of the organization’s culture and oversees the clients’ daily activities. This position supports the clinical and medical departments by maintaining a structured environment within the facility. Casa Serena is dedicated to providing a safe, positive, intellectual, emotional, and social living environment for all clients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical, medical, administrative, and operational support to all departments
  • Support the Program Manager with compliance across all governing entities
  • Assist clients in meeting program requirements while upholding the organizational structure
  • Collaborate with colleagues via team meetings
  • Provide psychoeducation support to clients as guided by the clinical team
  • Assist with client admissions and discharges
  • Observe and report client behavior that may require medical or psychological intervention
  • Provide accurate and clinically minded documentation throughout shift according to policies and procedures
  • Transport and supervise clients to various activities
  • Facilitate medication observation
  • Perform crisis management as needed
  • Perform High Risk Rounds and Withdrawal Screenings as guided by the Medical Team
  • Conduct UA drug screening and perform room and property searches
  • Facilitate a variety of group activities

Qualifications

  • Experience in a behavioral health treatment facility preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally with clients, administration.
  • Valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance.
  • Clean driving record and insurable by our insurance carrier.
  • Possess a professional demeanor and a collaborative spirit.
  • Have a general understanding and/or training in cultural diversity issues.

Primary Purpose and Function

The Program Nurse collaborates with the medical and clinical team to maintain a structured environment within the facility by providing a safe, positive, intellectual, emotional, and social living environment for clients.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Provide medical, operational, and clinical support to respective departments
  • Provide psychoeducation and medical support to clients 
  • Assist with client admissions and discharges
  • Observe and report client behavior that may require medical or psychological intervention
  • Provide documentation throughout shift according to policies and procedures
  • Facilitate self-administration of medication observation
  • Perform vitals and assist with detox withdrawal screenings
  • Execute phone orders and ensure proper follow up documentation according to policy
  • Perform medication reconciliation as required
  • Perform crisis management as needed
  • Conduct UA drug screening
  • Assist medical and clinical team in providing a professional and compassionate environment
  • Ensure a safe and positive treatment environment throughout the facility
  • Ensure Joint Commission compliance within the nursing and medical departments

Qualifications

  • RN or LVN License Required
  • Associates Degree or higher in Nursing
  • Addiction and/or mental health experience preferred
  • Treatment Center experience preferred

The Group Facilitator provides direct service to the clients in the form of educational, experiential and process groups and activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Facilitate educational, experiential, psycho education and process groups
  • Conduct mental status examinations
  • Maintain appropriate documentation as required
  • Monitor client participation and compliance
  • Actively engage clients in practicing new life skills 
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and crisis management when needed
  • Maintain State Licensure, Joint Commission, and Health Insurance compliance

Qualifications
